Radiant Reiki-Massage

I combine modalities of massage therapy and Reiki, for your unique mind-body experience.

Massage therapy is usually applied first followed with Reiki to balance the energy of the body.  Just as we experience "knots" in our muscles, we can also have areas of energy that are not operating with full functionality.  The combination of these two modalities can offer increased sense of balance and relaxation.  Through feeling more balanced in mind & body, a natural radiance may be restored.

Energy/Reiki Modalities

Energy balancing has been around for thousands of years and is based on the belief that everyone has a "life force", and that the body needs to sustain its balance for optimum health. When we experience emotional or physical illness it is thought that our life force or energy has become unbalanced. There are many systems of healing around the world that may work to help bring a person back into balance or harmony, including prayer or prayer ceremonies.

Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that helps to restore balance to the energy system in the body. The client and Reiki practitioner set the healing intension. Reiki usually utilizes a gentle laying on of hands. This connection is to conduct the necessary energy force between the client and practitioner. However, the amount of contact depends on the comfort of the client or in cases of distant healing there would be no physical contact. The most important thing is that the healing intension be agreed upon, where possible, between the client and practitioner. There are some situations where a guardian may give permission for the healing session.

Some benefits that clients may experience from receiving Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain.

Life Coaching & Hypnosis

Life Coaching offers clients input on how to set and achieve personal goals for success. Using tools such as hypnosis and NLP (Neural Linguistic Programming) to take a deeper 'Inward Look', can assist a client on goal development and strategies to stay on track.

The focus is to identify a problem, identify client goal, develop positive affirmations, self-empowerment and confidence.  Each person is unique and may work on and towards their goals differently.  Though sessions are set for about 90 minutes they may be shorter or longer to personalize each program uniquely for each client.

A pre appointment phone consultation is scheduled before your in person or zoom session.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Myofascial Release Massage

image

Myofascial release massage is a soft tissue technique used to treat injuries and discomfort, reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial release massage differs from other types of massage in that it targets the fascia - the membrane surrounding muscles - rather than the muscle itself. Since fascia completely encases every muscle in the body, imbalances in the fascia can have serious effects on your range of motion and comfort level. While other forms of massage can overlook this connective tissue, myofascial release massage focuses specifically on stretching and releasing tension applying both deep and or light pressure.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.

Compassionate Touch

What is Compassionate Touch?

The practitioner is in a place of sympathetic consciousness and sacred space holding, while applying a combination of touch and energy healing to the client.

This technique can be applied with any client to improve rapport and communication.

Compassionate Touch offers a sacred space holding for the unique client that may be experiencing dementia, an inability to communicate through normal means, illness, and end of life.

A Compassionate Touch Practitioner (CPT), is trained to listen and watch for the subtle and sometimes overlooked communication, that each unique client may use to express themselves. This technique may offer hands on or hands off applications depending on the communication of the client.

Elder Massage

Elder massage is a form of massage designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly. It helps to improve blood circulation, relieve pain, and also increase range of motion. If you are elderly, geriatric massage can help you maintain and improve your overall health, as well as regain certain physical functions that have been reduced due to aging. In addition, since the elderly don't typically receive enough physical touch, this massage can also help alleviate symptoms of loneliness or depression.

Articles: Backpacks and tension

Returning to school? Protect your child's back.

  1.    We all know that text books are heavy. According to the National Safety Council (Anand, Neel. 2018, Sept 7), backpacks can feel like they weigh similar to forty pounds and may negatively effect your child's growing body. For a list of ways to properly choose a backpack please visit the NSC listed below. As the school year progresses, kids in all grades may experience neck and upper body tension, muscle aches, and headaches. Massage therapy can help (AMTA. 2011, Oct.). Backpacks can pull on the shoulders and back muscles creating abnormal postural tension. Over time, this tension can become chronic, especially when adding computer use, hard chairs, and sports to kids daily routines. Let's keep our kids healthy and happy!!! Family packages are available. Give your child a gift of health with therapeutic massage.
